Depuis la création du studio de design graphique deValence, ses membres s'attachent à mettre en place un processus de travail garantissant un dialogue permanent entre les différents acteurs des projets auxquels ils sont associés. Imprégnées de la culture des avant-gardes artistiques des années 1920, leurs réalisations se caractérisent par une approche dynamique des relations texte-image et une attention particulière portée à la clarté des informations et à la structure même de l'objet.
Impliqué par ailleurs dans une réflexion sur le design, deValence est à l'origine de plusieurs supports de recherche dont la revue Back Cover, Sa maison d'édition B42 et l'association F7.
A book from deValence présente une sélection de travaux conçus par le studio depuis 2001 (identités visuelles, affiches, livres, cartons d'invitations, etc.) retraçant près de quinze ans de collaborations. Elle est accompagnée d'un essai de Victor Guégan et d'un entretien avec l'artiste Raphaël Zarka.
La préface est signée Robin Kinross.
Since the creation of the deValence graphic design studio, its members have attempted to set up a work process ensuring a permanent dialogue between the different stakeholders of the projects they are associated to. Imbued with the spirit of the artistic avant-gardes of the 1920s, their productions are characterized by a dynamic approach to the relationship between text and image and by the attention paid to clarity of page design and to the structure of the object itself.
Besides, deValence is involved in a reflection about design and has therefore originated several research mediums among which the magazine Back Cover, the publishing house B42 and the non-profit F7.
A book from deValence présents a selection of works conceived by the studio since 2001 (vssual identifies, posters, books, invitation cards, etc.) which recount nearly fifteen years of collaborations. It is accompanied by an essay by Victor Guégan and by an interview with the artist Raphaël Zarka. The foreword was written by Robin Kinross.
