Andrea Menard is a Métis woman whose Michif ancestry originates from St. Laurent, Manitoba, Canada. Menard is an accomplished Métis singer, storyteller, speaker, and the founder of the Sacred Feminine Learning Lodge. 6. Symphony Show – Menard is well-known for her Métis cultural pride and messages of hope. Her new Symphony Pops concert, Rubaboo, which is the Michif word for “leftovers” stew, is an entirely Métis-themed concert featuring 75 minutes of Menard’s music, stories, and cultural knowledge. With many of the biggest symphonies in Canada interested in booking her, Rubaboo is the perfect platform to highlight the existence of her Métis-themed cards. 7. TV & Film – Andrea Menard has a following from her work as an actress in Canada. She has had starring roles on several Canadian television series including the Netflix series Blackstone. Menard wrote and starred in two national television programs that feature her stories and music. One is a made-for-television movie based on her one-woman musical, The Velvet Devil, which won several international awards, including a Gemini Award nomination (a Canadian Emmy Award) for Best Performance in the Performing Arts category. The second program is a 70-minute holiday special, called Sparkle: An Evening with Andrea Menard, that introduced her to the world as a leader in unity consciousness and a messenger of hope. Sparkle aired on the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network for 7 consecutive seasons. A new show, Sullivan’s Crossing, is to released this spring.
