ROGER NEVILLE HUGHES is Lloyd Roberts Professor, Professor of Zoology, in the School of Biological Sciences, University of Wales, Bangor. While maintaining wide interest in evolutionary andbehavioural ecology, he has focussed particularly on the biology ofclonal animals.
