Excerpt from The Laws of the State of Kansas, Passed at the Fifth Session of the Legislature: Commenced at the State Capital, on Tuesday, January 10, 1865, Together With Lists of State Officers and Members and Officers of Both Branches of the Legislature
I, R. A. Barker, Secretary of the State of Kansas, do hereby certify that the printed acts contained in this volume are true and correct copies of the enrolled laws on file in my o¿ice, which were passed at the regu lar session of the State Legislature, held in the months of January and February, A. D. 1865, with the exception of the clerical errors appearing inclosed in brackets; and I do further certify that all laws contained in this volume, not taking effect from their passage or publication in some newspaper, as per certificates thereto annexed, will take effect and be in force from and after the 19th day of June, A. D. 1865.
